What Makes Tenacity Work So Well?

Vitamin C (as absorbic acid)

This important antioxidant literally plays hundreds of roles in the proper functioning and growth of the body. It was added to Tenacity due to its key nitric oxide boosting effects- these are the “muscle pump” effects you commonly experience with pre-workout powders. How does this work? Vitamin C works to boost an amino acid called, L-arginine. This amino acid is always readily available to convert to nitric oxide.[1,2,3] The results leave you with the health benefits of vitamin C and the intense muscle pump effects of nitric oxide!

Vitamin B 12

Like vitamin C, vitamin B12 has a several roles in your body. It is known to improve the development of red blood cells and prevent anemic-like defects.[4,6] Red blood cells carry important oxygen needed during intense exercise. Without a healthy supply of red blood cells you would become fatigued easily and not enjoying the benefits of an intense workout. B12 also works to help develop nerve cells and has been shown to be an effective pain reliever of nervous system disorders[5,7]. Our muscles use our nervous system to effectively contract and move weights.

B12 helps this ‘mind to muscle’ connection. Another important role of B12 is proper cycling of protein throughout the body. Your body will begin to use your precious amino acids (protein) as fuel when your B12 levels run dry. Keeping a healthy supply of B12 is key to preventing unwanted muscle breakdown and use during exercise.[9]

Vitamin B6

It is challenging to find a category of molecules n the body that do not use vitamin B6 to function. Vitamin B6 plays a key role in almost all cell formation in the body. This includes cells such as heme and phospholipids. Vitamin B6 also works to break down carbohydrates in our bodies to be readily used as fuel. Due to its role in providing energy via carbohydrate breakdown, vitamin B6 has been intensively studied by many scientists on athletic performance. Lets also not forget the fatigue delaying and energy boosting effects Vitamin B provides! [10-14]

Creatine Monohydrate

Perhaps one of the most controversial supplements to ever hit the market, creatine monhydrate has been show time and time again to be safe, effective, and boost strength. [15-18] Creatine monohydrate involves improving the response of your fast twitch muscles predominantly. These muscle fibers are activated during heavy lifting . We wanted Tenacity to not only help with muscle pumps and energy, but boost strength as well!

L-tyrosine

The recent boom in L-tyrosine products was undoubtedly due to some of the potent effects it has on workout performance. It is a precursor to some neurotransmitters such as norepinephrine and dopamine. These neurotransmitters can help block out pain which exceptionally useful during an intense workout. The effects on these neurotransmitters as a result of L-tyrosine are also to reduce the chance of overtraining and fatique on your muscles. [21] L-tyrosine also helps aid in relieving stress from workouts and preventing harmful hormones from destroying precious muscle tissue. Another great benefit to L-tyrosine is its ability to relieve anxiety, depression, burnout, and fatigue related symptoms. [19-24] L-tyrosine has also been reported help cognitive support and focus.[24] These are essential as you work your way through the gym. Taurine

A beneficial antioxidant and amino acid that plays an important role in high intensity exercise. Taurine has been shown to improve protein synthesis, cell hydration, boost metabolism, and improve cardiac function. [25,26,27]Protein synthesis is the building of muscle tissue and this effect alone would leave this a popular amino acid supplement. But on top of this Taurine has been shown to improve cell hydration which is necessary for many complexes to take place in the cell-not to mention create a “full” muscle look. Taurine can boost your resting metabolic rate which is great for burning fat even when you aren’t working out! Taurine will also help to reduce body fat by taking care of LDL’s (bad cholesterol) and metabolizing fat cells at the liver. Taurine also has had some reported heart benefits as well! Taurine may reduce the number of platelets in your blood which buildup in your arteries, causing gradual adverse side effects or an acute injury such as heart attack or stroke.[28-30]

Citulline Malate

A form of the amino acid, citrulline malate aid as reducing fatigue, blood lactate, and balancing you blood acid-base. Basically citrulline malate improves your ability to recover between sets at faster rate due to its ability to control your lactic acid buildup that occurs when your muscles fatigue. What’s more is that citrulline has also been reported to improve nitric oxide levels, growth hormone, insulin, and creatine production![31-34]

Caffeine

We’ve all heard of caffeine and know its great energy boosting effects. Caffeine was added to Tenacity to give you more of an energy boost, strength increase, mental focus, thermogenic increase, and reduce fatigue. Caffeine also has been shown to work synergistically with many of the other ingredients in Tenacity, giving a pronounced effect versus just caffeine alone. [42,42,44]
